'Jersey Coastguard is responsible for the safety of life at sea within its area of responsibility spanning 875 square miles. A large proportion of this area was not monitored by radar and only a very small percentage by remote cameras. Sirius Insight’s remote monitoring station, consisting of radar, AIS and high powered optical/thermal cameras, has greatly improved our Search & Rescue capability by reducing the amount of time it takes to locate a casualty and facilitate their immediate rescue.
